The drip molding process
Jun 19, 2024| The drip molding process, used in manufacturing PVC labels, typically involves the following steps and characteristics:
Material Selection: Thermoplastic materials like PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) are commonly chosen due to their ability to flow and solidify at elevated temperatures.
Mold Design: Designing a mold that matches the desired shape and size of the label, based on its design contours.
Dripping Process: Heating PVC pellets or liquid PVC are dripped into the pre-designed mold. The dripping speed and frequency are controlled based on the label's thickness and structure to ensure accurate filling and shape.
Cooling and Solidification: After the PVC has been dripped into the mold, cooling systems are typically used to rapidly reduce the temperature, allowing the PVC to solidify quickly.
Removal and Finishing: Once solidified, the label can be removed from the mold. Common finishing processes include trimming excess material and surface treatments such as polishing or buffing.
The drip molding process offers advantages such as high production efficiency, precise dimensional control, and the ability to create complex designs and structures. This method is suitable for mass production of high-quality labels, such as clothing labels, commercial product labels, etc.
